Often I find myself worrying about things that don’t really matter. In high school, it can be super easy to get caught up in small things that are not of true importance. When we worry about the little things, we should ask ourselves if it is actually worth worrying about. Many things that we spend time thinking about will not impact our future. When we look back a few years from now, the little things won’t matter. Looking the best, winning a game, having the most friends, or getting the highest grade can seem important now, but really all of these things will fade away sooner or later. High school is an opportunity to make memories and enjoy it, but it doesn’t last forever. Many times we get caught up in popularity, social life, relationships, sports, or other extracurriculars. Don’t get me wrong, these things can be good to have, but we also must consider our decisions that will matter later in life. When I am older and look back at my life, I want to be able to say that I made a change or helped make a difference. Worrying about the little things can be pointless and hold us back from reaching our full potential. Why worry so much about little mistakes now when we can make a better future for ourselves. No one is defined by their mistakes. Only we can decide who we are and who we will become. Instead of worrying, look towards a greater future.
